Totally impressed with the amazing reporting from the ground at the G20 this weekend via Twitter, I decided to join.  If you can’t get enough of me here, follow my poignant (ha!) and thoughtful (pah!) musings in 140 characters or less.

I make no promises…

O Morro

Rio’s slums are being transformed into a rainbow on the hill thanks to the vision of two Dutch artists and the work of local residents.  Jeroen Koolhaas and Dre Urhahn have been painting favelas for the past two years in an effort to rejuvenate these areas and create a place that residents are proud to live in.

In progress.

Pretty amazing.

when the wind bares the trees and them clouds are pushin east, come on inside, dry your clothes, warm your bones, get a glass and set yourself at ease.

when the dust in your room covers all that you do, get yourself outside, mornin train pull it away, hear the whistle play, and set yourself at ease.

there’s a house by the hill, how i long for it still, my home sweet home

This weekend I went to a friend’s cottage in Northwestern Ontario just barely over the Manitoba-Ontario border.  Despite some treacherous rain on the drive up and some ominous looking weather once I arrived, we still had an amazing time.

On Saturday morning after our egg whites, we went kayaking. The lake was like glass and our boats glided through so easily.  We took a 25 foot wide passage across to another lake where no one lives.  Amazing. I can’t believe I forgot my camera in the city.
